Youtube media...can I get sued for...?

I took some content off youtube (non copyrighted) and edited it as a joke and posted it. It has people in it that were in some fake school project thing that was already on youtube. I edited and made it goofy, could the people in that video sue me if they wanted to?
 
First of all, it was copyrighted. You don't need to go through any special process to get a copyright, you get it automatically when you create/publish something.

I doubt that you'll get sued, since you're not making any profit off of it, but using someone's image or likeness without their permission can get you in trouble. If they ask you to take it down, you should.
