Youtube backdrop quality help?

I'm having a hard time making a youtube backdrop without it being really crappy quality. I can't make it above 1MB of course, but I don't know the sure-fire way to make sure my image is sharp. Does anyone make web backdrops or just know what the best thing is to do for a nice high resolution image?

thanks.

Use "seamless" pictures. These are pictures that can make a tessellation. Then, you click "tile horizontally and vertically", and you get a high quality picture without having miniscule pictures.
