Your Top Five Anime Characters and Why

Link (D.Gray-Man) Probably isn't the greatest character but he is, at this point, my favourite. He seems like a character who will get a fair amount of development in, but also, I think what I like most is his character seems fairly simple. To me, that makes him more realistic. Also, the fact he can fight without the power of an innocence weapon is pretty cool.

Ami (Toradora) I like a few characters in this show, well, all of the characters, but Ami stuck out most. She was a character to hate, and not only provided the show with the extra energy it needed, but there was a lot more to her than it first seemed.

Chane (Baccano) Mystery is always appealing, the fact she never talked added to this. Her loyalty to her father was oddly. Her fighting skills were pretty darn cool as well, it's nice to see a female who doesn't cry and ask for help.

Jin (Samurai Champloo) I didn't actually like him at first, he seemed like the typical serious guy, and Mugen's overwhelming personality, along with Fuu's talkative attitude really distracted my attention. But after re-watching it I realised he was actually pretty funny, just in a more subtle way than the others.

Luciola (Last Exile) (I was tempted to put anemone here, but anyway) Another quiet type, I quite like these characters as they seem a little overlooked even though they tend to play major roles. Luciola is no exception, and although his submissive attitude is distressing at times, his loyalty to Dio is pretty admirable.

Ha, I tried making good reasons, but when it gets down to it I just think they are all 'cool'. Argh, I really was tempted to put Anemone in though, she is badass.
 
Revy (Black Lagoon) - Funny and hot headed, can duel wield with the best of them.

Dutch (Black Lagoon) - Quiet and cool but hard as nails. Only says what needs to be said.

Shannon Casull (Scrapped Princess) - Sticks up for his sister no matter what situation he gets dumped in.

Deunan Knute (Appleseed) - Some of the coolest moves I've seen and accepts people for what they are.

Luffy (One Piece) - Hilarious and sticks up for his friends, stands his ground against anyone.
 
1.) Alucard from Hellsing
possibly the greatest and deepest anime character i've ever seen. plus he so badass.
not to mention he humiliates and laughs at wanna be vamps or losers. *draws pistol slowly*



2.)Broly
i know its a DBZ character but so what? he's a mean green fighting machine.
plus he manhandles 5 different guys no sweat.


3.)lucy from elfin lied
crazy sadistic chick with emotional tragedies. nuff said.


4.)L from death note.
weird, mysterious and a genius whats not to like


5.)seras victoria from Hellsing
shes hot, badass, AND she knows how to kill
vampires. sweet.
 
#1) Revy: from black lagoon she is a badass hot chick, she doesn't take no **** from, deadly with her 2 9mm cutlasses, and she just balla. plus she has a killa tat.

#2) Guts: from berserk he is a buff badass 100 man killa. aways use a sword that is as big as himself. pretty much a one man army. also doesn't take no **** from no one, not even the nobles.

#3) belldandy: from Ah! my goddess. she is a super sweet goddess they can do no wrong. she always spreads joy around with just her smile, and when the time is calls for it a guarding angle that no one can beat. so powerful that she has to lock some of her power.

#4) nauto uzamaki: from naruto. he is goofball, idiot, that can seem to do anything right. althoug he never gives up and even though he doesn't do very many things right, because he never gives up he wins.

#5) Onizuka: form GTO. he is a tercher who only started teaching because of high school girls. he use to be an the leader of a gang but left that behind. now he teaches the kids real life lessons. and he never fails.
 
Well , these are my Favorite character in my favorite animes :

For the 1st place ,

1. Kogarashi ( Kamen no Maid guy )

- Not for the pervertness of Kogarashi , I know all boys have pervertness ^_^ , Kogarashi knows all in terms of making a girl look good .

2. Yami Yugi ( Yu-Gi-Oh)

- Well , Yami Yugi is my idol in Yu-gi-Oh . Why Yami Yugi ? because Yami Yugi knows everything about friendship. Even though he's gonna lose in a fight . He continue to fight for his friends especially for Yugi his half body (dont determine what is it).

3. Rock Lee ( Naruto )

- Rock Lee is awesome , he can run fast as the winds . He never quit . For the sake of his dignity to Sir Maito Gai . His Mentor , and also his team leader.

4. Kurosaki Ichigo ( Bleach)

- Ichigo is a rockin idol in anime history . He's very ferocious . and also funny.

5. Chii ( Chobits )

- Chii is very cute . I love Chii , She loves Hideki so much
 
My list is not in any particular order nor do I think it's the best. It's way too hard for me to be able to pick and order 5 characters out of all the anime out there haha. I feel I should also point out that I made all my choices based of the manga. It doesn't really matter I'm just letting you know the perspective from which I've based my judgments.

1.) Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) - I often find myself geared towards reading/watching stories about the young hero. Not just young, but smart, diligent and hot-headed too. It makes the stories far more colorful and enjoyable.

2.) Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) - What I like most about Luffy is his aloofness. He is a fun character to follow because he's simple. Sometimes it's fun to just have a character that isn't serious or complex but just fun and simple. I don't only like characters like this, but the occasional one is always fun .

3.) Saito Hajime (Rurouni Kenshin) - Saito has been on this list for me for the longest time. I really enjoy scenes centered around him. He's ruthless yet sarcastic so he always adds something enjoyable to the moment. Whether it be comedy or some more blood and bad-ass swordplay.

4.) Eikichi Onizuka (Great Teacher Onizuka) - I can't even recall how many times I laughed during this anime/manga. Onizuka is a hilarious character who's very interesting. He always reminds me of a teacher that I had (he never did the things Onizuka did of course haha).

5.) Negi Springfield (Mahou Sensei Negima!) - This one might seem kind of odd but I don't care. The thing I like most about Negi is how much he changes (This could be said about Keitaro Urashima too. I really like Ken Akamatsu's protagonists). No spoilers, but the steps he takes as a character later in the series are vastly different from what he would have done in the beginning.
 
My top five favorite characters are:

(Naruto Characters)
Shikamaru - Intelligence is sexy and I find his laziness to be a charm.

(PoKeMoN Characters)
Misty/Kasumi - Not only does she have a kick-ass attitude but since she left the gang, PoKeMoN lost it's spark for me... I'm not a big fan on Dawn or May. D: I miss her so!

(Chobits Characters)
Minoru - Again, it's the intelligence I love most. Also, his story about the strong affection he feels for Yuzuki touched me. Poor guy. ):

Chii - .....You HAVE seen her right? Then you know why I love her. xD

Hideki - ...I love men who can make me laugh. D:

I'm not looking to challenge other peoples favorite characters,
nor do I expect them to do the same.

I just felt like sharing my list and reasons. ^^
I'm off to explore the forums some more.
 
My top five characters are:

Sora Naegino (Kaleido Star)-I like Sora because she faces any hardship that comes her way, she never gives up, and she is always fighting for her dreams. She also wants to be able to achieve her dreams without competition because she doesn't like it (I also hate competition).

May Wong (Kaleido Star)-May is an interesting character. She is always trying to be the best and is always trying to be the star. She competes whoever she has to in order to be #1. But she can't beat Sora. Eventually May realizes she lacks something Sora has and tries to find that within herself. I like May because she is supportive of Sora in her own way and she is always discovering new things.

Sousuke Sagara (FullMetal Panic!)-I like Sousuke because he is a strong person. He's been through ALOT and despite that he is still the same guy he's always been. When he meets Kaname he learns to soften his heart a bit and starts to realize that his military duty isn't the only thing to life. He is a fighter, he stands up for what he believes in, and he protects those important to him.

Kaname Chidori (FullMetal Panic)-I love her personality. She can be serious when need be but she truly cares for her friends, and for Sousuke. She can get fiesty sometimes and will put people in their place, but she is strongly loyal and brave. If I could have any character's attributes, I'd like some of hers and Sora's.

Konata (Lucky Star)-Konata reminds me a little of me when I was in high school, a hardcore otaku. I miss having that type of personality, but I can relive it while watching Lucky Star (lol). I like Konata because she's energetic, passionate, and a good friend. She's also a weirdo.

Wow...it was hard to pick 5 favorites, lol.
 
1.) Vash The Stampede from Trigun - He's hot, he's hilarious, but can be serious when it's needed.

2.) Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho - He's hot, he's short, he's even shorter tempered, he fights like holy hell, and his past is interesting.

3.) Jimmy Kudo from Detective Conan - C'mon. : ) Gotta be a sucker for a guy who can solve murders in one episode usually.

4.) Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho - My shallow 'hot' reason again, his attitude is funny, his temper is funny, he's a very determined character. Very entertaining as a main. : )

5.) Lucy/Nyuu from Elfen Lied - Amazing, beautiful character with very intense background and feeling to her.
 
Imma huge Darker than BLACK fan, so this could be full of Darker than BLACK characters.

1 - Yin(Darker than BLACK) - I really cant say why I like Yin, she does fight or even speak that much. I guess its just because shes different and I like different.
2 - November 11(Darker than BLACK) - Its smart, strong and always wears a suit, lol, his kind of like James Bond, but kinda evil lol.
3 - Shinji(Evangelion) - his roughly my age, kinda depressed,like me, and just wants to be left alone, like me, I guess if I were an anime character Id be Shinji.
4 - Hei(Darker than BLACK) - your average hero type I guess, his just very likable character.
5 - Kamina(Gurren Lagann) - the manly of manly men, of course he would have to be on my list.

Well theres my list wheres yours?.................Oh right there ok then.
 
1. Dr. Tenma from Monster. You can't help liking the man and feeling for him during all the horrific events he gets swept up in.

2. The Count from Gankutsuoh. I've had a crush on the Count from The Count of Monte Cristo since I had to read the book in high school. He has to be on my list just due to loyalty >_>

3. Integra Hellsing from Hellsing. It's very rare to have a female anime character who is that strong and kicks that much butt!

4. Sakurazuka Seishirou from Tokyo Babylon and X/1999. He's the coolest assassin ever. And he kills people with sakura petals.

5. Sanzo from Saiyuki. For very shallow reasons >_>
 
I am a stubborn, parsimonious, hateful; “popular is un cool,” mean ******* person, who is a hard to please judge. (My thanks to my girlfriend who was more than willing to answer me with such anticipation when I asked “what kind of person am I babe?”)

I like Anime a lot, there are a few shows that I enjoy and watch over again and again. BUT, there is a lot of crap out there. In many ways some of you’re favored shows are complete pieces of **** to me. I couldn’t image more than one episode of it let alone 100 more. Most characters are lame and have been already done. Some are too wimpy for my taste, others just plan suck.

My list is simply the best of the best characters. The different, odd, funny, relatable, abstract, dark, complex, philosophical, and just plan awesome,



Onizuka (Great Teacher Onizuka)
How is this person not on everyone list? He is funny, crazy, quirky and distinctive to say the least strong and all so pathetic at the same time. (He’s 22 years old and still is a virgin!) He rides motorbikes, and has to be the best teacher I’ve seen. That entire is good, but what’s the best is his unwilling belief that even the trouble kids are good. He that awesome teacher at your school that you visit during breaks to talk bull ****, like “how lame was that speech from the Principal last week?” He seems dumb but has true genius in his action. Also helps it’s a good anime but I believe that’s because of this character.

Spike (Cowboy Bebop)
First of all, Cowboy Bebop is the best anime. The music great, the story rocks, the story world is very believable, and each character has lots of depth. To me Spike is awesome because he is basically a Jewish Bruce Lee. That’s right Spike is Jewish, Jet is American, and Fay is from Singapore. Edward, I’m not too sure. Spike has to be the coolest character out of all anime characters. How that you ask, simple… he is smooth, gun fighting bad ass, that follows his way and his way only.

Keitaro Urashima (Love Hina)
This character has been done before. Wimpy, depressing, never gets the girl, nerd. But this anime really hit home for me when I was in high school. I wasn’t the most popular kid in school, which could be because I had nasty acne, and lack of sex appeal with pale white skinny body. I had social skills that would challenge Larry David on creepiness. Keitaro is basically me, when I was in high school. I wasn’t an A student, football star, I wasn’t really good at anything. At that time, I’m on top of everything now, ladies *wink* He is relatable to me.

Master Roshi (Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT)
The name says is all, when any anime fan hears the name Master Roshi four things come to mind. Turtle hermit, kung fu master, lives on an island, and perverted. He has to be the first and original creepy old guy in anime. I believe he started it all. I mean the only reason he trained Krillin was because he brought porno magazine for him. The guy has to be the weakest mother ****er in the show, but still is around in GT. Why, simple because he is a bad ass.

Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin)
Kenshin is a deep character, and you don’t fully understand him in till you know his complete history. You have appreciated how this character works, and acts. First he’s a bad ass; he has a very dark past. He worked as a solider in a revolutionary army, but not just any solider, a solider that is feared by his enemies and honored by his allies. The man said to have had speed that made the gods envy. – awesome-. Kenshin has influence though; he is unique, in that his high charismas allow him to gather a large group of loyal people. He not good and he is not bad, he simply tries to fix the problem without anyone help. Very cool character.
 
Gon (HunterXHunter) He never gives up and makes a friend everywhere he goes. He is pretty much awesome at anything.

Naruto (Naruto, Naruto Shippuden) He is just like Gon but he is a ninja and bassically never gives up.

Kenji Harima (School Rumble) He is seen as a deliquent but really he is a guy that just wants the girl he loves to love him back

Kenichi (Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple) He bassically always wants to protect the ones he cares about.


Shikamaru (Naruto, Naruto Shippuden) Hes lazy and smart as hell, He does cool things in fights

Orihime: I love her personality and I can relate to her
Amu: shes so funny and energetic and sincere. We have a lot in common
conan: He is just plain cool, even as a kid. Hes smart, and funny
Gin: (bleach) I just like him, he has allways struck me as beng pretty cool
Kirby: kirby is cute and fun
 
1.nodame (nodame cantabile) - at the begining of the anime she fell in love all by herself, and she is so much like a guy in some ways its amazing
2.Tsuna (eyeshield 21) he was the first person im anime that didnt try to stand up to the bullies
3.Gon (hunter x hunter) i like his out of the box way of thinking
4.Maki (soul eater) a weapon who forced herself to be a meister, simply amazing to go against what/who you are
5.Yoshimori (kekkaishi) the smartest dumb person i've ever met
the were the only ones i could think of and since this is my first post i thought it should be on this thread because every time im asked this question my answer changes
