well seeing that I love action and fighting and things of that sort; here is my list:
Ergo Proxy (Vincent LAW)-NO one can beat him. The strongest hand-to-hand-fighter ever.
Hao- he is super strong and always cool
Alucard- Simple. Hes the number 1 vampire in the world. period.
Cpt. Aizen- can any other bleach character even compare? hes awesome.
hmm...I cant think of anyone else so I guess Ill have to go with Nedji- very good fighter.

#1) Urd - Ah! My Goddess: She just strikes me as way cooler than the rest of the cast. She's got a lot more depth to her than her sisters, and I really like her impulsive nature.
#2) Tachikoma - Ghost in the Shell: How could someone not like these guys. Insatiably curious, philosophical, and they're tanks!
#3) Miyuki Kobayakawa - You're Under Arrest: I can't help but like a police officer is who so technically gifted, fearless in the face of criminals - and scared to death of monsters and ghosts.
#4) Bean Bandit - Riding Bean/Gunsmith Cats: Great driver, mechanic, and about as strong and mean as they come. Also honorable and sticks to his word.
#5) Harlock - Captain Harlock: I've never seen any other character quite like him. He follows his code without fail and without mercy.

lucy (elfen lied), tough, strong willed but has a soft spot
sora naigeno (kaleido star), a bit klutzy but determined and hard working, and an unmistakable charm
chii, chobits, innocent, cute, friendly

Saito (Rurouni Kenshin) Although you find yourself rooting for Kenshin most of the time you never ever ignore Saito when hes involved he works behind the scenes letting Kenshin have the limelight but hes so cool he doesnt need it.
Stellar (Gundam SEED DESTINY) Stellar was literally insane and so when she did crazy things like slaughtering the population of an entire city at least she had an excuse unlike the other characters. + sexy scene in ep 21 lol Shinn was crazy.
L (Do i even need to say?) Awesome by default L didn't need to try and already with one appearance he was cooler than Light.
Zechs Merquise (Gundam WING) the lightning count OZ's top pilot and later member of the peace-keeping group the 'preventers' this was my favourite masked anime character and his role as Heero's rival was brilliant.
Aya (Fruits Basket) his overwhelming confidence is always a source of inspiration for practically anything idiotic you are about to attempt.

1. Watanuki Kimihiro - xxxHolic
Reason: He is such a caring and nice person. Helping other characters that are having a painful time or just need help.
2. Oak Hakuren - 07-Ghost
Reason: Protect the ones that are dear to him.
3. Nightray Gilbert - Pandora hearts
Reason: Gilbert also protect the ones that are dear to him and he is quite pretty~
4. Haji - Blood+
Reason: Haji is a very quiet person, but he is always with his precious one, no matter what.

Reason: I guess the same reason as all of my other favorites? xD Protect his dear one, and he is a beauty~~

Freya from Chobits - I like her elegant BLACK dress, she looks so graceful and beautiful in that dress.
Asuna Kagurazaka from Negima - Somehow, I happen to like girls that are somewhat tomboyish, and Asuna is a perfect example.
Shinn Asuka from Gundam Seed Destiny - I like his red eyes. And with the help of Rey's battle plan, he manages to defeat the fabled Kira, who in the other hand, focuses more on the escape of the Archangel than his battle.
Kakashi from Naruto - He is a strong ninja with awesome speed and techniques.
Kazuya Shibuya from Ghost Hunt - He wears all black. =P LOL.

1.Goku(Dragonball Z-1st character I ever saw in an anime.He also inspired me to never give up.
2.Kenpachi ZarakiBleach-He is a total badass and has an awesome drawing
3.Hiei(Yu Yu Hakusho)-Is a badass and cool drawing.Not to mention his attitude and his skills with a sword.
4.Grimmjow Jaggerjack(Bleach)-He does not take **** from anybody.He also has a cool attitude a is my favorite anime villain.

My top 5 anime characters:
Not so famous (maybe)
1. Shana (Shakugan no Shana). Innocent girl yet good at kicking Guze no Tomogara's asses!
2. Kamijyo Touma (To Aru Majutsu no Index). Great street fighter! Even if he was a level 0 esper in Academy City, he defeated Accelerator and other strong people just by a punch with his right hand!
3. Index (To Aru Majutsu no Index). Loves the way she bites Touma everytime she's angry! Adorable and cute!
4. Fujino Shizuru (Mai-HiME). Even though her HiME powers was revealed during episode 20 (It was a few episodes before the ending), she totally rocked! Greatly skilled fighter!
5. Keiichi Morisato (Ah! My Goddess!). I like the way he copes up with all his misfortunes during college life hahaha!

2. Toua Tokuchi (One Outs): For his unique gambling abilities, his intelligence and calm cold attitude

Sakura (Naruto Shippuuden): She has grown to be much less annoying, but much more powerful. She's become stronger and smarter and I admire her determination.
Haruhi (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya): I like Haruhi simply because I'm just as eccentric as she is.
Yuki Nagato (TMoHS): Although she's far from being Haruhi, Yuki and I both love to read.
Ichigo (Bleach): Even though he's stubborn, he's a good kid at heart.
Chi (Chobits): Awww, come on. She's so adorable!
Haruhi (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya): I like Haruhi simply because I'm just as eccentric as she is.

My Top Five Characters:
1. Hoshina Utau (Shugo Chara) - I just love everything about her: her voice and songs, her super pretty face, her competitive personality, and most of all, her not-so-evil side. Plus, she wears her hair in pigtails in a way which doesn't look childish.
2. Souma Kukai (Shugo Chara) - The sporty one in the series. And I love sporty guys. He's cool and awesome.
3. Suigin Tou (Rozen Maiden) - For some reason, I love the bad guys. Well, I find her outfit really good. And I like her medium, Megu, too.
4. Shinku (Rozen Maiden) - I guess this is the first time I loved the protagonist of an anime series. Yes, she's sophisticated and elegant but I do love her childish and snobby side too. Plus points since she drinks tea.
5. Nagato Yuki (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - She doesn't speak. And that's a factor that I love. Plus, I find her totally cute.
