* Gantz - Most 'mature' anime I've ever watched, but its not just mindless gore/nudity. Probably my favorite anime.
* Berserk - Great medieval anime. Plus, Gutts (Guts, Gatts, w/e) is one of my favorite anime characters.
* Black Lagoon - I guess its like Bebop, but no space theme. I liked it more than Bebop, though. Proly my 2nd favorite.
* Evangelion - Most people know this.
* Samurai Champloo - Good 'samurai anime'. (A bit too humorous for me...) Still good.
* Gunslinger Girl - Not as much action as I anticipated, but great either way. Kinda depressing though. You feel sad for the little girls throughout the whole series.
* Elfen Lied - The gore didn't bother me so I loved it. Seriously, its the goriest anime I've ever seen. Crazy gory and mature anime.

1. Death Note
2. Ruroni Kenshin
3. Fruits Basket
4. Chobits
5. Dragonball
6.. Case Closed
7. Cowboy Bepop
8. Trigun
9. Inyuyasha
10. Prince TuTu

1. Lucky Star - It's cute and sh*t.
2. Azumanga Daioh - Humorous.
3. Dokuro-chan - A guilty pleasure. I watch it for the violence.
4. Akira - It's quintissential.
5. Excel Saga - Humor and general top-overness.
6. FLCL - Humor, trippiness, and multiple layers of meaning.

That's all I got. BTW, this list is in no particular order. Excel Saga is probably my favorite, next to Akira.

Why only 10?

Berserk
Akira
Ninja Scroll
Vampire Hunter D (both)
Dragonball Z
Tenchi (all except Tenchi in Tokyo and Tenchi Forever)
Claymore
Iria: Zeiram the Animation
Spirited Away
Castle in the Sky

I could keep going but that would be breaking the rules.

10. Ouran High School Host Club- Hilarious once again.

I really enjoy Anime for interesting plotlines and enjoyable stories.
I put a number to each of the Anime I've listed that I think a viewer should watch before they quit on it. Regardless of how bad they believe it sounds or appears.

1. Mushi-shi (2) -
My favorite episodic Anime. Every episode is a self-contained story dealing with Mushi(Small beings that can cause supernatural incidents and are overall unknown to human beings) and a traveling Mushi Master (Mushi-shi) who helps deal with some of the supernatural problems that the Mushi may cause. Every episode was a calmly told story that I relaxed and enjoy.

2. Berserk (3-4) -
This is a rare anime where the story is somewhat just streaming from episode to episode that you can easily get lost from when an episode has begun and where it has ended. Just one amazing, enjoyable story about a swordsman named Guts(Though I've ran into several different names in translations) as he travels with a man with great ambitions, Griffith, who leads a group of mercenaries "Band of Hawks". The animation is older and the first episode can be quite a turn-off. The anime ends in disappointment but overall it still remains as a fantastic memorable story.

3. Kino's Journey (2) -
Another great anime with a story that's begun and finished almost every episode. The anime is about a traveler named Kino, with a talking motorcycle named Hermes, that visits many different countries that have strange and exotic customs. Kino will only spend 3 days in each country since Kino feels that it's enough time to explore and learn any place they may come across. After the first episode, they almost completely stop the 'repeated statements or quotes'.

4. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (3) -
If you're one who has enjoyed Mushi-shi AND Kino's Journey, then there's no reason not to watch this series (Not saying you'll love it, but should definently give it a fair shot). I had watched the movies first and had found the series a slight turn-off when I realized it wasn't a sequel nor prequel. But I ended up loving the series anyway - it having self-contained stories in some episodes(that are titled 'Stand Alone') and the another half of the anime dealing with the main theme "The Laughing Man" (that are titled 'Complex). I personally enjoyed the 'Stand Alone' episodes a lot more which varied from totally indepentant cases to fantastic backstories(especially the 2nd season). The third movie which is after both seasons = fail.

5. Spice and Wolf (3) -
A unique fantasy in the middle-ages. Instead of "swords and dragons" it's about an experienced tradesman who stops at a town and ends up traveling with a wise 600 year-old Wolf that can take the shape of a girl who ends up gaining him profits with her wisdom. It's charming all along the way while slowly growing romantic. A second season will start airing soon which continues their story.

6. Death Note (3) -
The most intense Anime I've seen. An excellent story of cat and mouse between two intelligent young men.

7. Code Geass (12-13) -
For me it takes a bit of episodes to break away from the casual "Mech" genre and start enjoying the story of the anime. I personally enjoyed Code Geass and definently noticed it was different by 3 episodes but I recommend everyone to reach 12-13 episodes before pushing it away entirely. There's a lot hype for this Anime - they did a fantastic job for adding so many different genre elements (it's why it's loved by many) and still creating one of the best stories (the part I care about most). The anime touched many emotions of mine I even teared at somepoints. This so far is my favorite anime.

Two movies I think are worth a mention

8. Shin Angyo Onshi -
This movie and Berserk are the two stories that will eventually push me into starting manga. Although the story to Shin Angyo Onshi isn't as strong... Munsu is a FANTASTIC character. Absolutely love him. I personally can't get into manga because I fail - Unable to get 'lost' while reading it. But Munsu is certainly the biggest driving force into me beginning.
9. Sword of the Stranger -
Has the most detailed fight scenes I've seen in almost any anime (Moribito had some great ones as few as there were) with a good story.

I don't have an order, but here's a few:
Death Note
The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
Black Cat
Lucky Star
Ghost In The Shell:S.A.C.
Ouran High School Host Club
Bleach
Code Geass
Skip Beat!
xxxholic
School Rumble

1.-Poke'mon - Because Everyone loves it.
2. Naruto.-Popular and Ossim
3.Bleach - action packed.
4.Shaman King.- Cause its O.K
5.Yu-gi-oh GX-Tatical

1.) One Piece - Despite being one of the most stereotypical Shonen titles ever, it takes that Shonen formula and makes it fresh and awesome. The series just keeps on getting more and more and more epic. All of the characters are likable. All of the character's being as likable as they are makes you very attached to them, and it's lead to some of the most emotional scenes I've ever seen in any anime. And lastly, unlike the rest of the stereotypical Shonen series (Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball Z), it's going somewhere. It has an ending point. I don't care how long it takes it to get there, personally. Very quality anime!

2.) Trigun - Used to be my very favorite anime. It's been a while since I saw this anime. I watched it on Adult Swim back in the day. I loved the characters, and I thought that it was absolutely hilarious at times. I also love the battle between the brothers and their morality.

3.) Fullmetal Alchemist - This series mainly pulls me in for how emotional it is. lol. (I'm really enjoying Brotherhood, by the way.)

4.) Ouran High School Host Club - Really funny little series. The manga gets more serious.... But the anime is just the beginning of it really. I

1.) Blue Dragon (Japanese Version) :- Made me laugh so much

2.) Sword of the Stranger :- I thought the storyline was amazing, the fighting scenes were ok, a little gore, could be improved, and added to

3.) Dragonball :- The fighting scenes were amazing along with the storyline

4.) Blood: The Last Vampire :- I enjoy a little gore

5.) Cowboy Bebop :- What can i say, it's just an amazing classic, with an amazing storyline

6.) Akira :- An awesome futuristic movie, with an amazing storyline

7.) Yu-Gi-Oh :- Nice classic anime, with hardly any violence just within the card game itself, nice plot to go with it to meeting new people along the series

8.) Pokemon :- A great classic that i doubt will ever die, or will be able to get to old for, even now it still makes me laugh

9.) Card Captors :- Has a great storyline, and the way they fight by summoning them monsters with the cards is just truly a great idea

10.) Street Fighter 1 and 2 :- The games were awesome, but after watching the anime movie's, i feel in love they were amazing with great fight scenes and awesome story plot

1. Gurren Lagann: I'm surprised no one mentioned it. To me it's the
best [short] anime series I've ever seen. Loads of action, amazing storyline, and everything is just perfect. I truly recommend that everyone watch the series.

2. Berserk: A very adult anime. Action, Sexual, great storyline, and a little horror.

3. Akira: Classic, nuff said.

4. Death Note: Great mysterious anime, keeps you on the edge of your seat.

5. Jin-Roh: Great film.

6. Cowboy Behop: Sci-fi type of series. One of the best series to hit cartoon network.

7. Evangelion: The film and series is just amazing. It keeps you thinking the whole time. I've seen the series and films multiple times and still don't fully understand everything.

8. Gundam 00: The only Gundam series that's actually better or at the same level as Gundam Wing.

9. FullMetal Alchemist: One of the best series of the 21st cenutry. Who would've guessed that a anime about alchemy would be so cool.

10. Sailor Moon: What 80's baby never seen Sailor Moon? It's the best all girl anime I've seen, none can compare to it. Action, magic, and girls that inbetween transformations are naked.

Side Note: It was a tough decision naming 10, I could have easily named the top 20. I was going to add Naruto Shippuuden and Bleach but their manga's are so much more better than watching the TV series.

Shugo chara-Doki!- The sequel to the original, Shugo Chara-Doki is a pretty cute anime. The characters, have differing personalities.

Di Gi Charat- This is the cutest short series ever. It also has a prequel, sequel and remake.

Lucky Star- An all-otaku anime. Many anime references. A slice of life genre.I reccomend this.

Sailor Moon-A four season series. There's fighting, interesting characters, romance, and comedy. The plot is great, each season with a different plot.

Pokemon-Yes I love Pokemon, the characters are different. Some even have only one or two emotions. The newer seasons aren't as good as the older ones.

Trinity Blood- Love this one. The plot is awesome, plenty of death. You follow a catholic priest with a secret. Says the wikipedia plot summary of the first episode.Sadly, this is a short series.

Tokyo Mew Mew-Typical magical girl, with an animal twist.

Naruto- The most famous ninja anime. The japanese original is best. Naruto has a sequel series.

Fullmetal Alchemists- I liked this one. Edward is the most stubborn person ever, always breaking his auto-mail. Through the series, Ed and Al are out to find the philosopher's stone.

Ojamajo Doremi- A cute little anime. A group of girls running the Maho-dou, which changes theme every season, during their Witch apprenticeship. They go through tests each season.

1. Strawberry panic- An all girls school of lesbians, do i really need to elaborate?

2. Black lagoon- The best realistic action anime, or more accurately, the only good realistic action anime. Oh wait, what about gun slinger girl? Hahahahaha, yea, fat chance.

Naecroknight's Top 10!

Well okay, they aren't really a top 10 these are just my 10 Favorite series of all time in no particular order.

Eureka 7 - The series that really hooked and pulled me deep into anime. It will always be one of my favorites.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex/2NDGIG - My tie to the cyberpunk genre. Amazing plot lines and deep rooted stories that if you miss one episode you have no idea whats going on. I highly recommend for anyone that likes action and logic.

.HACK//SIGN - A real mind bender. This anime makes you think and is a great fantasy anime. I highly recommend for anyone that has ever played an RPG game.

Death Note - Suspenseful and full of exciting twists. The adventures of Kira, L, and N is an anime fit for the ages. If you are looking for an anime that will change the way you see good and evil and how you perceive each this is for you!

Code Geass - A good mecha series with a magical twist. Follow Lelouch as he fights his way to bring down Britiania. This anime will have you questioning whats happening and trying to think how Lelouch will move next.

Gundam SEED - Personally, my favorite of the GUNDAM series. This series is about a war between two different types of people and their refusal to accept the others right to live. Only Kira Yamato and the others aboard the Archangel have a change at ending this war.

Full Metal Alchemist - Simply beautiful. A most watch. Enough said.

Cowboy Bebop - Amazing anime. I don't know any other way to describe it.

Okay so its not 10 but I don't feel very strongly about any others I have seen. And I have not finished any others.
