I am looking to find some exciting topics that are currently being proposed in sexual education in the school system; such as condom distribution in high schools, daycare facilities in high schools, sex ed in elemetary school, pro-abortion discussion, etc. Any ideas welcome!

How about teaching self esteem issues.
Where girls are taught at a young age that a guy will say anything just to have sex.
That saying NO until they're ready is really OK.
That just because their friends are doing it doesn't mean they have to.
That just because they're sexually active doesn't make them cool.

How about statistics of single parent teens?
Or the teens parents having to push child support in court for the father of the baby (or his parents) to pay?
How about the statistics of STD's in people that are 21 and younger?
And how many of them caught AIDS or HIV off a sexual partner?

I'm not saying abstinence is the way to go, however, it sure beats being 13 years old and pregnant, don't you think?

a controversial topic that i find is being discussed in sex ed. is abstinence. i find that so many high school students these days are being told basically just to NOT have sex. period. you cannot tell teenagers not to have sex, and not properly educate them about all other birth controls, and protections against STD's.
i once heard on the news that a high school, in i think it was Virginia (i could be wrong), had the highest number of teenage pregnancies in that state, and when the state's medical board decided to start handing out condoms and birth control to all students, parents were outraged, and so angry that their children were given birth control.
that is RIDICULOUS!!!!!
