your Jug Fishing baits?

I am not sure how popular jug fishing is across the country but.. i was wondering what kinds of bait people were using now a days. the last three times I went I used bass minnows, cut bream, and those catfish balls at walmart. These three times together i have only caught around 10 fish which is terribly comparatively and considering I use 15+ jugs. Previously shad have been very successful for me but recently, whether due to the decreased water level, or bc i do not currently have a boat i can stand and net out of.. anyways i was just curious to the baits others were using.
 
i use crawfish ,small bream, chicken livers,beef liver.cut shad and spoiled shrimp.
