Your First Anime?

Oh, the classic question. What began your epic journey through the shaded panels of manga, through the brightly colored scenes of your favorite anime? And... what WAS that fated first? Which manga caught your eye? Which anime did you pause to watch late at night, flipping channels?

Personally, I first saw an episode of Inuyasha on Adult Swim, while I was watching tv, probably back when I was seven or eight. My first REAL exposure, though, was when I was in Barnes & Noble, and I started flipping through a volume of DNAngel while I waited for my mom to be done in the ladies room. (yeah, the manga section is near the restroom. I know. I know.) Ever since, I was hooked. Hey, I even got my sister into it. And, well, my brother sort of likes Cowboy Bebop. It might count.

So what about you?

Started watching Sailor Moon with my cousin... that more or less got my hooked on Anime. Any Anime prior to that was just another cartoon as far as I was concerned since I was too young to differentiate.

Watched this before I could talk. ****, watched this before I could understand words. I just really really liked the music and my mom always put it on to shut me up for a minute and a half.

Yes, that makes me cooler than all you dbz, sailer moon, and yes, Akira cherry poppers.

I don't know about Samurai Pizza Cats though.

The very first thing I really watched avidly was Dragonball Z and G Gundam on Toonami when I was around eleven years old, and I've been watching more and more ever since. I'd come home from school every day eager to see the latest episode...*sigh* Those were the days.

I watched pokemon + digimon as a kid, but the series that got me into it big-time was Love Hina. I was flipping through alluc to see if there were any interesting films or something to watch when I saw the title and thought to myself, with my dirty mind, 'this sounds interesting...' and the rest is history.

A thread like this usually appears every once in a while, and people seem to always have interesting stories to tell. For me, I saw a few series before I knew what anime was. Mainly Sailor Moon that ran on Swedish TV (the dub wasn't that good, but better then the english one at the least). I also was Pok

I vaguely recall seeing sailor moon from time to time while i was younger, i liked it but it was on quite early in the morning and i am not a morning person.
I thing the first ones i watched properly were tokyo mew mew and hell girl.
The first manga i read was rave master.
