I had a thread before (I'm formerly Bill Z.) that discussed my severe constipation that was resistant to 150% of the fiber RDI, lots of water, a daily stool softener. With that regimen I could only go once every 3-4 days, with a lot of straining, and the movements were always incomplete.
The advice offered was to add daily MiraLax to that regimen.. several of you suggested this. I followed the advice--used it for a whole week as directed--and I still could only go once every 3-4 days and I still had to strain. Seeing almost no improvement, I quit. The stuff is expensive anyway.
The other advice offered was "in emergencies" try 3 supporities, after running them under hot water which makes them act quicker. I did this and waited an hour. After an hour and 15 minutes, I just *barely* had the urge to go. When I went, I got rid of two half melted supporities, and that was it. No further urge to go, nothing gotten rid of.
I'm very disappointed that the advice YOU GUYS offered does not work for me. I'm disappointed that you won't offer any other advice, and you won't own up to your words... you just ignore me.
I've tried explaining THIS before.. (and nobody has any clues?): When I try to have a bowel movement, even without straining, I get a "pressing" sensation in the back of my neck, at the base of my skull. If I strain harder, the pressing sensation gets even worse, and then it begins to feel like I could faint. I also have this in my back. It leads from the back of my neck, through my back, and into my bowels. This "pressing sensation" kinda prevents me from having a bowel movement because it "blocks" me. What could cause this???
Impatiently waiting for replies,
