Hello,
I am a mother of a 3 month old who recently lost all her belongings to a SWAT team attack on my house with CS gas (there was 2 bank robber that had a stand off while we were gone). I lost everything. There were donations but a lot was still missing. After this along with a 1/2 paid maternity leave, I found myself very behind on everything ($500 dollar car payment, PGE and utilities for new place).
Prior to this event, I was slipping a little behind on my bills but after the events, my finances took a turn for the worst. I still owe 20,000 on my car (paid of 10,000) and my insurance is about $300. Any ways, I'm now scraping change for rent and has been told by a friend that I should just have my car repossessed and file for bankruptcy. Is this a smart choice?
