but theres no effort and no creativity. music is mostly creativity. how can you be creative and artistic and express yourself if all the work is done for you? that show sickens me.

Great, they can sing a song without sounding like rabid bullshit roasting on an open road. It doesn't make them any more listenable. The Kelly What'sit person was the most sucessful of the entire show ever. And only because she quickly jumped onto the emo bandwagon, thus appealing to spoiled bitch little girls.

I listen to artist like poe, portisthead, SRC, Tool, NiN, Techno (trance) whatever you want to call it, sevendust, slipknot, korn, and many many more....

I guess people listen to what they want to listen too....

Right, that's what I meant by MTV and radio music.

It's not that I care what people listen to, it's that I hate the industry's bastardization of music. Hardly any mainstream music is worth the vinyl/acrylic it's pressed on now days. It's all under produced and soulless, and the entire industry is a circle jerk of the newest pop-teen-super-retard-fad on TV. As an musician it makes me sick.

To each his own, but we all have our rights to our opinions. I'll leave that stuff to everyone else though, I can't be bothered with it.
 
Hmm...i really think that MTV should change their name to "the stupid popculture bullshit for the media masses to follow 24/7!!! channel." Because that's pretty much what it is...It's even sadder that people try to start fights over music. Like, I was wearing an Elton John shirt the other day, and some idiot guy wearing pants halfway down his ass, and a giant astros tshirt that's like 20 sizes to big for him comes up to me and says "yo elton john is gay, you must be gay!!!" I really felt i lost a few brain cells that day....
 
I agree with everything said in this topic so far, like the MTV thing, thus why I stopped watching it many moons ago. Now I listen to underground shit, things most people don't know about. But all in all, the two main things I listen to right now are MSI(Mindless Self Indulgence) and Social Code. Check it out if you want, I personally like them.
 
Did you really just insult shit like Ashlee Simpson....and then as a counterpoint to the 'shitty music' you mention "The Game". I'd listen to the lil jon cd FORTY SIX BAJILLION TIMES before I listen to that motherfucking waste of hype again. For every snobby music connoisseur...there's eight others ready to tell them how their music sucks.....to be safe....keep your opinion where it belongs.
