I am 18 years old, and have Iron Deficiency Anemia, but am enrolled in my local blood center's Iron for Women program where I get free iron pills in exchange for donating twice a year. Today was my first donation since beginning the iron pills (6th lifetime donation), and right after donating, I was very fatigued, most likely due to low blood sugar, so I drank some sugary soda and took a nap. When I woke up, I had a sharp pain in my chest, like a stabbing pain that gets worse with deep breath and sudden movement. It's been about 7 hours since I woke up and the pain is still pretty severe. I have limited insurance, so I am hesitant to go to the doctor. Any suggestions of how to alleviate the pain, or as to what this could be, and if it is urgent or not?
