happen if DC were nuked..no culprit..? in sight. Or we found out it was an inside job by someone in the CIA or military. You know, one of those slip ups...like the guy that accidentally..quote on quote, put thermonuclear weapons on the wings of a bomber that flew over the western united states.
But instead it could be this military commander that just decides to nuke washington DC. Done by 20 guys (his own pals) and himself, which subsequently commit suicide.
What would the political structure of the US look like? let us say the FBI is also eliminated. Would the military take charge as we rebuild the political infrastructure?
let me know your thoughts on what you think would happen.
ok, the muslims would be blamed for it....I doubt it...but lets say that yea, it was all planned and greedy little men, and little dumbasses follow them. So then you have thsi military leader (I don't see any of the politicians rising up after this event) give the order to .....what?
I know it would most probably be COVERED up ....but I don't know if they would exactly BLAME all of the 'muslims'. if you know what I mean..I think they would find some 'convenient' explanation.
But my question was more on how the political landscape would look like.
like not what we would do to anybody 'outside'...how would things be run inside the United States. How would culture change?
would we become in favour of torture all of a sudden? of massive checks everywhere? would we be willing to exchange freedom for security...then?
ammianus...your answer is more along the lines I expected...
yea, something like that. Why do you think martial law inside the United States? I mean, the system works pretty well inside...perhaps privacy would be thrown out the window, it woudl become totalitarian. And they would basically track everything, but not necessarily martial law, what makes you think that exactly?
well, I could see the military imposing martial law in order to make the presence of the goverment legitimate...so nobody got the impression it was a free for all, that's true. But I don't think it would necessarily be helpful inside the coutnry to have extreme martial law....in fact, that could cause a lot of friction with law enforceme4nt, the military and the general population...which could lead to a revolt and a pretext...by some darker forces
for complete and utter anarchy.
