I think there's a huge difference between randomly throwing mecha into a love story and trying to say that a Brave show should be a shounen and not be about the insane robot corabinations.The ultra realistic look would probably be something with Powered Armor, and we've seen that as far back as VOTOMS and Starship Troopers.
