You CAN remote into Vista from XP.

I changed a few settings and you can remote into Vista Ultimate from XP Pro, Aero and Flip 3D are disabled but that is ok.

at first i said it wasnt possible to remote from xp to vista but the day after i saw that i wasnt allowing incoming connections to vista

I can imagine the confusion tho.

Right click My Computer go to properties. Then select Advanced System Settings, click the remote tab and finally choose allow all version of RDP.

Not sure what other settings he had to change.
