and hear a frequency that is 3.5% ? You are riding your bicycle directly away from a stationary source of sound and hear a frequency that is 3.5% lower than the emitted frequency. The speed of sound at the temperature that day is 341 m/s. What is your speed?
For this I have the equation right.. but i don't think im using it correctly..
fo=fs(1/ (1+(vs/v)))
fo-frequency observed = (1-.035)fs
fs-frequency emitted
vs-velocity of source
v-velocity of sound = 341
I got 670 for my first try.. and then 330 for my second attempt.. i don't get what i am doing wrong!
