Yes or No? The sound of drums.?

Is there no way to play a "beautiful" considered drum solo, without it sounding like justa lot of drumming in another rythm? ..
maybe using more symbols lightly? idk.
It's just a desperate question that really has no answer,
just answer yes or no if you think it's possible to make the drums into a more solemn, possibly heartbreaking-sounding instrument.
