Yeaaaa, I know, I've began to realize that my acne is hormonal because I've tried everything. I'm just sick of it! SO hopefully I can make it through this month and see improvements real soon. I cured my chest acne using Neutrogena body wash with 2% salicylic acid and I put 5% benzoyl peroxide. it worked like a charm.. i still have some bacne and I'm hoping my back and face will clear as the YAZ kicks in. Thanks so much, I will let you know. thanks again.

hey believe 30. i dont think i have had any migraine headaches, i dont really know what those are like, but yesterday i was really light headed. so the migraine headaches could be connected to yaz. if thats the case im sure they will start toning down and eventually stop.

i was on dianette, which is pretty similar to yaz (or so i've heard) and it completely cleared up my skin within the first two months. sometimes around my period id get one or two awful zits but it was nothing compared to before.

good luck, bcp were really the only thing that worked for me long term and i was on accutane!

my derm had put me on clyindomicin in the morning and retin-a at night. but i was using a 3 set - cleanser toner cream - as well so after about 2 weeks i stopped using clyndomicin because it seemed like i was using too much stuff. so im not really sure how effective it was or would have been. sorry i couldnt help you out with that one. but yaz is a birth control pill that is known to improve/get rid of acne.

I know it is extremely bad for your skin and health but does anyone go tanning and if so, has it helped or made your acne worse. I definitely tan in the summer outside and at the tanning salon and my skin is great but in the winter it's gross and was wondering if tanning would help. I have gone since i was on yaz and have broke out with a few the next day but i dont know if its from the yaz (cuz since i've started i've broken out with at least 2 everyday) or tanning.

I've gone through 2 packs so far and I haven't gained any weight, just lost some. My boobs did go up a cup size tho, but that wasn't anywhere near upsetting haha.. So everyone reacts differently. I'd talk to your mom and derm about it, and if you decide to try it I hope you the best.

Hey savemeplease/everyone...

I am still on my first pack of yaz. I was trying not to get too excited but for about a week or so I had not one breakout which is a long time to go with no break out for me. Well, good thing I didn't because for the past 3 days I've broken out a little again. Definitely not as bad as when I first started and before but I'm hoping as I get closer to my period I don't start having massive breakouts again. Keep me posted and hang in there!

whyfish, thanks for your post :)

The first 2 months of taking Yaz I really thought it wouldn't work for me, just like so many things haven't. Now going into the 3rd pack, I've had such great improvement in just the first week of it. I'm so excited because now I have so much faith that my skin will be clear soon. Good luck to all of you Yaz users. And for those of you struggling with acne and nothing seems to work, give bcp a try.

I'm 15 and I've been taking Yaz for about a month and a half now. My face is like good one day and bad the next and I'm just so fed up with it all. I just want to start the new year with clear skin :( . Im getting really discouraged so I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experience with Yaz and when you started to see improvement. Thank yall so much and Happy Holidays!

Hi Everyone...

I am new to this site, and I am using Yaz currently to battle acne. I have been on alot of things from creams to antibiotics. I am currently on an antibiotic, a topical cream, and yaz. I am about to start my third month of yaz, and I still have not seen an improvement. My face seems worse than I started off with, and I am just so depressed and decided to turn somewhere where maybe people can relate to what I am going through :( even anyone can offer come advice or anything please do..

thanks

Hey everyone,

I just started my first pack of Yaz. I have mild acne and I'm not really sure what the cause of it is. So far it isn't any worse or better as far as I can tell (which is to be expected, I'm only on the 4th pill tonight).

I've tried many things (Purpose, AcneFree, Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, Clearasil, etc.) but nothing has worked completely. My skin is very odd, anything I clean it with seems to leave it with that tight feeling, and dry but it gradually gets more and more oily until I wash it again. Maybe I shouldn't use anything on it at all besides warm water, I don't know. I've also got redness in the skin on the apple of my right cheek that I can't seem to get to go away. It just showed up within in the past year-year and a half I think. Any advice?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Yaz will do the trick for me, only time will tell though!!

Hi,
I've been on Yaz for about 5 months. For the most part, it's done a very good job of keeping my skin clear. I attribute the breakouts that I do experience to stress, and I think you should consider that, too. You should also remeraber that you're in a critically hormonal time in your life, and clear skin may not be a very reasonable expectation right now. I'm sure it won't last into adulthood.
Some tips:
make sure you use a makeup remover every night... I use Yes To Carrots Eye and Face Makeup Remover. Always keep your skin hydrated (Clean & Clear Soft "Night" and "Day" lotions are wonderful!). Don't wash your face more than twice a day.
Once a week, take a small amount of Neosporin and corabine it with your facial lotion in your hanRAB. Apply this at night, and you will see a HUGE difference in the morning. My dr said it's safe to use about once a week, but do not use Neosporin too much, since it's not meant to be used over large areas.

Hi, your message is really encouraging. I almost felt like giving up. I am like on the edge with my acne. I've tried eeeeeeeeeeeverything. (doxcycline, retin a, differin, clindamyzin, benozmycin, chemical peels, kiehls, clean and clear crap, cetaphil, purpose, neutrogena, hydrating masks, extractions, omg I can go on and on). I even eat super healthy, four to five bottles of water a day, tons of leafy greens, fruits, nuts, soymilk, teas rich in antioxidants. When NOTHING seemed to improve my face I turned to YAZ. I just started my second pack and my face broke out in a few painful pimples. It started when I began taking YAZ. I'm just hoping that it clears my skin by the third month because I am on a verge of a breakdown. It's comforting to know that others are in my position. So far so good with Yaz (PROS: bigger boobs, lighter perioRAB, weight loss, mood is more calm) although i did start my period day 3 of the white pills and I got severely bad cramps that I was kneeling over most of the time at my job trying to mend the pain. I just started month 2 and im still on my period but it seems to be fading. I take vitamin b-complex twice a day in order to restore my vitamin B because YAZ depletes it which explains the mood changes in most women. I am also taking alpha lipoic acid 300mg for my acne scarring and it seems to be fading the red marks. Anyways, I'm just praying that my face gets better because I've tried everything!

Thanx! I'm gonna try to hang in there! It's definitely hard especially when you have to get up and go to work everyday and face the world.

Yaz is overall working well for me. I lost weight, my boobs grew, my face is slowly clearing (I stopped breaking out on my cheeks but I'm still breaking out on chin and jawline), some mood swings, short light perioRAB. It takes time...

Believe30, I feel like were in the same boat.

I'm currently on Yaz, Doxycycline, and Retin a micro.

I'm starting my 3rd Yaz pack on Monday (Jan 5th). During the first month I just felt like my skin was getting worse and the second month wasn't much better.

I'm also getting acid peels at the derm once a month (3 total) and I think they may have been responsible for my skin worsening as well (the purges afterward). But in the long run I think they will help alot by getting all of the existing acne out now instead of later. I got one yesterday and my face is looking a bit better and so far, no purge this time :) . Maybe you could consider mentioning the acid peels to your derm, exfoliation is a key to improving acne.

But as far as Yaz goes, I've heard that 2 1/2 months is a popular time to start improving alot so im really counting on that being the case for me, and hopefully you as well. I know many people say 6 months but I'd like to be optimistic. And I believe 6 months was when they became clear? so improvement is all I need right now to start being more hopeful about Yaz, because honestly, I've been feeling a little doubtful...

Keep me updated, I'd love to know how you're doing.

I've been taking Yaz for a while now, I think i'm on my 7th pack. The first month i was clear and then the second month my face went crazy and then it started to where id be clear off and on, kind of like what youre saying. I started to notice that usually when i started a new pack it was the worst but when i started this last pack i only got one new pimple and thats it and no more than that for like the last 2 weeks so hopefully *crosses fingers* its starting to work now cuz i heard that for a lot of people it took at least 6 months on yaz and yasmin. stick with it and ill check back and let you know if i stay clear. It might just take longer for you like it did for me. Btw, i didnt weight gain either... lost weight!:-) I love that about yaz.. good luck!

I actually went tanning at a salon about 6 times during the first 2 months of Yaz. It always made my skin super dry and flaky but that was because I was using retin a then, which I recently stopped using. I was breaking out a ton then so i dont really know if I had a breakout afterwarRAB from it.

I've heard that tanning beRAB help the appearance of acne because the redness goes away but that it actually blocks your pores? so you will en up breaking out later. I'm not sure if that's true or not...

Although when I was in Florida this summer, I got really sunburnt (I always burn and then it turns into a great tan) and it made my skin so much better. I didn't wear any makeup the entire trip! It looked like I never even had acne! I didn't notice any breakouts that would have been caused by the tanning, just went back to my normal breakouts.

But if you're going tanning at a solon, I would only tan my face for part of the time and then cover it with a towel for the rest.. moderation. but that's primarily if you are using certain (harsh) face creams.

Sorry if none of this helps.. that's just experience with tanning. I'd love to hear what others have to say.

it took you til your 7th pack to improve to that level?
my acne has been like through all the different types. it all started in about 4th grade, it was tolerable but it was still a little erabarrassing being the like only one in my grade to have skin problems, you know. and then i started wearing makeup around 6th grade and my skin would always get really shiny(oily) and so that became another insecurity. now the acne is mainly on my jaw line but ever since iv started yaz it seems to be on my cheeks more. iv been really depressed with it, feeling like im never going to have clear skin since its been an issue for so long and i cant take it any more.
i just finished my second pack of yaz so im hoping good improvement starts to be evident this month, im really counting on it.
what kind of acne did you have and when did you start seeing improvement? thanks so much, i really appreciate it
