yamaha ybr 125, only starts in neutral?

Hi, i am finding i can only turn my bike on when it is in neutral, whats up with this? this is a problem because i have stalled a couple times and then i cant find neutral so i cant start my bike leaving me in an awkward position. also when the bike is in neutral and it is off i cant change gears at all, and it seems i have this problem when i stall and not in neutral for a while it wont even change gears at all

as most many have that safety so you dont start it in gear sorry learn to ride how to shift one down first one up from that is neutral
