just bought a boat with a 40hp outboard, it start and runs fine, it goes at low speeds fine, but as soon as i get to about 3/4-full throttle it boggs down and looses power, almost cutting out.
sometimes it eventually picks up and speeds up, sometimes it just bogs and wot do anything.
any ideas?
im not to clued up on outboards, not sure whats what, i take it the filter mentioned below is either the cyclinder or the flat thing that the fuel goes through before the carb?
