Yamaha Keyboard Piano Sound Fried?

I have a Yamaha PSR-275 Keyboard piano. It was plugged in with an incompatible cord. It fried my sound system somehow. I took it in to have an electronic guy look at it, and it was going to cost more than the piano itself for him to fix it. My whole piano works great, just with so sound whatsoever. Is there a cheaper way to fix this? or is there a computer cord I can get that I can hook it up to, and have it play through my speakers there? I don't want to have to buy a new one. If anyone knows anything I can do, your advice would be appreciated.
I do have a MIDI hookups in back, if that helps.
 
by a new piano or just fix the sound system no way I know of around it. It'll cost you some $$$ one way or another. Sorry about the piano though I cried when the Harpsichord in Iron Man was destroyed. My uncle cried for the car. Lol
