yamaha fzr 400 cc not starting?

i just bought a yamaha fzr 400 it had been standing since last august i charged the battery and there is a clicking noise from the starter but just not starting i am a very novice rider and simplon terms to how to fix this?
 
well normally a clicking solinoid means a duff battery...try a jump from a car battery...if still nothing,stick it in second gear and rock it,just to make sure the engine isnt locked up.if the engine spins the the starter may need looking at[or replaced].you could always bypass the relay[to see if its that thats at fault....simply bridge the nut contacts on the relay,but becarfull at it will spark a little.....it WILL be needing fresh fuel and the carbs stripped and cleaned..
