Did you read it? OK, I did I think it's a pretty silly article. Those oppose it have very clear logic; a government run programs that adds more patients to the health care industry has to raise cost. It's simply the law of diminishing returns. So many workers can only produce so much. Adding more patients means there is going to be a lower quality of health care. It's very logically and common sense.

You have 1 doctor, 1 nurse and 1 room. How many people can you serve in a day? 20? Maybe 30? Giving more people coverage is not going to increase the amount of patients 1 doctor can treat.

So the cost of treating 1 more patient is going to increase and this is why. Right now X amount of health care professions are unemployed. To treat more people, you need to hire more health care professions. However, the law of supply (and when we talk about labor supply, the law of supply is what we are talking about) states that quantity supplied rises when the the price rises. So, we are going to have to increase health care pay to increase the amount of workers. However, because we are adding more workers, their productivity is going to decrease. Simply put, LOGICALLY, we are going to be paying MORE for an INFERIOR service.

And, please, don't tell me how it is going to lower cost because the PRICE that uninsured people pay for going to the emergency room for care. Price does not equate to cost.
