y mercury used in thermometers ?

1)Hg(mercury)does not stick to the wall of the thermometer.
2)It is shiny.
3)The expansion of mercury due to the heat is uniform.

Hg is a metal in liquid form and has a great afffinity to heat.Hg show a small change of heat therefor mercury used in thermometers
 
mercury hasnt been used in thermometers for decades maybe even a century by now
