:ah: Sorry, these are BUGGIER than the Okefenokee Swamp.
I bought mine originally because I disliked being raped by Verizon on their MP3 download charges. Also it was especially attractive since I had a ton of ancient converted MP3s that will never be available otherwise and getting them to play on many phones is almost impossible.
With the 6700, transfer them to a mini SD card and pop it in and go.
UNFORTUNATELY... it soon became apparent the machine was plagued by lock ups. By which I mean, you select some file from a menu on a card and it fails to play, load, execute, etc. It simply turned the "select" color and refused to perform its basic function. In fact, it was extra maddening because you could do almost anything (edit, move, rename, etc) OTHER than open, play, etc....
(And yes, this was checked with numerous different cards, file types, etc.)
Frequently, the battery would have to be removed altogether to reset the unit and it would work fine for a hour, a day, two, but would ultimately just get stupid again out of nowhere.
Verizon finally traded me for a replacement. ($50 charge.) Same thing.
Plus, within six weeks the speaker phone function bit the dust.
Another exchange.
Same basic card and file problems. But now, after four months, this one developed the CHARMING HABIT of ALARMING REPEATEDLY.
Somehow it decided that it should GO OFF FOR ***EACH AND EVERY ALARM AND REMINDER THAT HAS ***EVER*** BEEN SET ON IT(!!!)***
EVEN WHEN EVERYTHING (THE ALARMS NOT THE SOUND) HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. SOFT RESET. HARD RESET. BATTERY REMOVED. LITERALLY *DOZENS* OF NON-EXISTENT ALARMS AND REMINDERS GO OFF PER DAY.
