The next-generation gaming console Xbox One is just few days away from launching, and ahead of it Microsoft has given its store a different name.
The software and Windows Phone mobile operating system giant today rebranded the Xbox Live Marketplace to Xbox Games Store. The new design is appealing, less cluttered and is equipped with user friendly interface.
Earlier to this, Microsoft switched on from arcane points system on the marketplace to local currency. In the old point system gamers were allowed to buy content by racking up the points in the virtual world, but with the new real currency system users can make purchases by utilizing their regular currency, which is said to be much easier, simpler and more accessible too.

About the new or the rebranded Xbox store there’s a small puzzle. The web storefront in the US reads “Xbox Games,” where as in the UK it says “Xbox Game Store.” Well, the name does not matter much as long as users can make purchases of full games from there along with experiencing other expected features.
A Microsoft spokesperson said, “That’s right, [Xbox Live Marketplace] is now called the Xbox Games Store, and will sit alongside the Xbox Music Store and Xbox Video Store. This is to make it easier for consumers to find content both on Xbox 360 today and Xbox One when it launches in November.”
Here to take note that the gaming giant has now used the term store in all its products
Meanwhile, the Xbox One is expected to be released this fall at a $499 base price.
