Xbox 360 wireless microphone (charging)?

how long does it take to charge it? when i put it in it had no batter and it has past about 3 1/2 maybe 4 hours but the 4 green lights are not flashing at the same time. it still shows that it is charging.

should i just take it out anyway so the battery wont burn up?
