Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable?

i have an xbox 360 with no hdmi ports and i have an LG LCD full hd 1080p and i was thinking of getting the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable to play the xbox in a higher resoulution but my tv doesnt have a vga input but has an rgb instead. i was wondering if it would still work if i connect the vga cable to the rgb input and if it wont work, is there any other way to play the xbox in hd?
