xbox 360 media player, how to play divx without connecting to the internet?

i want to play some of my divx and mpeg films but i can't seem to get them to play on ym oxbox 360 arcade without having to connect to the web. is there any other way to do this? or if not whats the aeasiest and most hassle free way?
