Xbox 360 backwards compatibility question?

Any of you guys have old xbox 1 games that are compatible with the xbox 360? And if so do they play like they would on the original console? Just checked the list and saw that one of my favorites (Marvel Vs Capcom 2)is BC compatible but it plays like crap, are all of the games going to be like this, if they are I might as well try to fix my old xbox, just need a new drive, and hook it up. I can't play my old games, like Steel Battallion, because there is no controller adapter like Sony has, well...... that I know of.
