XBOX 360 Arcade power cable on elite?

Hi i was just wondering if the xbox 360 arcade wires will work on an elite console? because my mate has an arcade and broken, and i wanted to take my elite there but don't want to take the wires because he has wires. will the same plug work on the elite or will it be different? because i remember when i first got an old broken xbox 360 the seller gave me a wrong plug that did not fit in, im wondering did he give me the first xbox's plug or something, please let me know if the same plug will work as i want to go my m8s house tomorrow. thanks
