I just purchased an Xbox 360 and have it connected to my Yamaha RX-V465 receiver (which is also connected to my HDTV) via HDMI. Sounds great but it's still showing the shows on tv instead of the Xbox video interface. Here's the weird part: I have a bluray player connected to HDMI1 in the receiver…the Xbox interface shows up when I have the bluray player turned on. When I turn it off, it goes back to tv commercials. I did try plugging the Xbox to HDMI3 but it gave me the same problem. I've bypassed this issue by connecting the Xbox to one of the TV's HDMI ports but I really want to know why the correct way isn't working. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Raymond
Not sure if this is the way I respond to the postings so here goes nothing:
Craig: I did everything to the "T" as far as the owner's manual is concerned. The folks at Best Buy told me that Yamaha might have the other HDMI ports preset for a device that only puts out audio…so I would then have to "reprogram" it? Talking to Yamaha about the issue.
Josh: Good luck with your Onkyo (and your grammar), nerd.
