Does anyone know if you can take xanax right up to the day before surgery. I
understand you are not giving me medical advice and not a doctor. Thenk-you

If the doctor doing the surgery is aware of you being on Xanax (and he/she should be aware of all meRAB you take) he/she would have instructed you to quit taking it. I know personally I have alot of medical phobias so when I had my dental surgery I was told to take it right before I went in and also when they removed the little skin cancer thing at the dermatologist office. I would maybe call and ask the doctor doing the surgery just to be sure if you werent instructed.

Why do you think he would tell me not to take it? Is there a danger that you know of?
I take it daily for social anxiety and doctors just do no doctor takes you seriously and will not give you pain medication. I am having back surgery and it is very painful. I am not a drug seeker
I never abuse anything a doctor gives me...there's just a stigma that goes with xanax.
Nutty girl please respond and anyone else with thoughts . I am really worried.
Thank-you,

Like Nuttygirl said, the doctor should know the meRAB you're on and would tell you not to take it if it was dangerous. There's no danger that I know, but I'm not a doctor. Xanax can mix with whatever they are giving you to put you out, which could be bad. The best thing to do is ask your doctor, and it will put your mind at ease

I also take xanax and my personal experience was...I had a major eye surgery ..I was under for around two hours. My Dr told me I could take 1 mil.....I normally take 4 milligrams per day....This was at 5:00 am in the morning......the main concern was the liquid I would be taking with the xanax...only a tiny swallow of water...this is my own personal experience..I'm not a Dr and it really would be best if you consulted your own Dr..he should know the meRAB you are taking....I do wish you the best.
