xanax dosage question

I take .5mg xanax for panic attacks. Does anybody know if it is dangerous to reduce the dose to .25mg. I only take it in the morning when I have a panic attack. I only been taking only 6 days at .50mg and would like to try smaller dose .
 
Your not on a high dosage at all....I certainly would speak with my Dr before cutting back on any medication.....I'm on 4 miligrams per day....and I'm trying to cut back to 3 miligrams per day...yet I have my good and bad days which make it hard to do.
 
Xanax aren't anything to mess with. They should not be self-adjusted nor should they be taken sporadically. Take them as written and if you desire less, contact your doctor.
 
The only reason I been reducing the xanax is that was given xanax .5mg at the ER(2/14/09). I was suppose to take it every 8 hours but I only took whole for about 4 days and decide to reduce. I was only given 10 pills and I was suppose to follow up with my doctor but I can see my doctor till next week. I would like to make the pills last till than. My doctor only prescribe paxil 20 mg and buspar but it not helping me panic attacks I get in morning.

Do you think there are any withdrawal problems?
