I am finally starting to feel better. I am on Paxil CR 25 mg and Xanex .25 mg per day (1 pill cut in half - taken at 6 am and 6 pm).

But now I am worried about becoming addicted to the xanex. I saw that you can have seizures when coming off - so now I am scared.

Any info?

I have no info on Zanax, but I will guess that many pills have that warning.I did take Doxepin, and have had periodic double vision, with that, ever since. That is the only major problem, that I have had.Doxepin also gave me a shocker; reading the yellow pages looking up a remedy for the vision. Its too gross to mention.I now take Paxil like you,but I take (CONTROLLED RELEASE) Paxil,37.5 mg,once daily.I know a person who takes this exact dosage, and she is 100 pounRAB lighter than me.Regular Paxil didn't seem to help. I took Ativan(Lorazapam),an anxiety pill
for years, and had no problem with addiction,or otherwise.I still keep a fresh supply on hand, just in case. Good luck. Bill

DEFINITELY not on that small of a dosage. I was taking 1mg 3x daily. For a while. Yes it is addictive but there is a tapering method to make it a little, if not completing, painful. Seizures would occur at around 30 or 40mgs and a coma could ensue.

I am no longer on xanax because i have muscle spasms and valium helps with that tremendously. if i were to recommend a 'benzo'. that's not all druggy and has a half life of 10-12 hours. There's no real comedown and they are harder to get addicted to.

There's Ativan but I find a skittle more affective.

Hi..i have been on xanax 7 years and take .025 4 times a day and 0.5 at bedtime...You are on a baby dose, If you dont plan to take more that what your taking then it should not be hard at all to come off of it....

I've been taking Niravam (it's a disolvable form of Xanax since I can't take pills) for 4 weeks now. The first 3 weeks I was on .25 and then they upped the dosage to .50 last week. Yes it's very addicting. That being said, being bipolar as well I'm on a couple other drugs that are addicting. They gradually wean you off slowly if you need to stop. I've done it a few times. There's no comparison to quitting smoking, though. That was pure agony.

I feel alittle better now. I worry so much about taking to much meRAB. Since I take only a total of .25 mg a day I guess that is a small amount. I also quit smoking about 5 years ago so I know what it is like if you do become addicted to something.

Why do so many websites warn of seizures when quitting xanex? Also, I just started and antibiotic - that wont affect me differently since I take xanex will it.

Thanks to everyone for so much help
