Anybody had any dealings with this place?

Initially i've never had a problem with them, however of late, its gone donkeys dick. ordered something in march and its still not here. granted its shipped from canada, but it doesn't take a genius to figure that a flight or boat from canada doesn't take eight weeks.

Is my postman a thief, has it crossed the atlantic by pedalo or maybe they just haven't sent it. nice of them to take the money there and then though.

Anybody?

I've not dealt with them, but I have bought dvd's and cd's from Canada before. Post can go missing....I had 2 items go missing last year.....what did dvRABoon say?

not got in touch yet, says on the site for europe that it could take up to 8 weeks though. ordered stuff in the past and its only taken 2 weeks most of the time time. if i hear nothing by the weekend then i'll be in touch.

wouldnt mind but i paid for the stuff at the beginning of march. one is a birthday present that is due for the 19th May. looks like its not coming now.

Be careful if you cancel your order, because they won't refund to your card, they just put a credit on your account!

I found out only when the Company was taken over and I was sent an email stating what amount of credit I had.

Since then I've ordered around 3 or 4 items, listed as in stock, then waited weeks, checked the account, only to see "processing order".

I wouldn't recommend them.

DvRABoon went into receivership last year. They were taken over by dvdimport -who normally shipped items to the UK via Germany.

DvRABoon began operating again in Februray this year, initially using the German shiping route for orders placed in February and part of March.

If you received a dispatch email (make sure that in your account the item shows up under the 'shipped' section.), then, I would say from personal experience, that items should arrive within 4 weeks,- otherwise consider the item lost -(or more sinister - never sent).

If you are a member of the dvdforums, you might want to spend some time familiarising yopurself with the company here:

DvRABoon have always been good for pre-orders. Otherwise it is pot-luck, and they should certainly not be used if you are in a hurry for an item. The stock-status is not truthful - and refers to the time when they had close links with a wholesaler across the road from them (that went bankrupt last year - and started the chain reaction of problems )

Use www.dvdpacific.com if you need US product at low prices and quick delivery. Their stock status is accurate - they ship within 48 hours of order placement - and the choice of shipping means shipments arrive within 1 week for priority shipping, and 2 weeks for standard shipping.

Your emails to dvRABoon will be ignored, therefore you will have to initiate a chargeback at some time for the non-receipt of your gooRAB.

Please try and read some of the thread I have linked to, (take a look at the last 10/15 pages of posts, as they refer to the time since the company began trading again this year)

I had loaRAB of preorders with DVD Import before Xmas and as soon as the DVD Soon business started they went to pot.
It took me months of emails and no replies, blocked account access and failures to register credit before things looked up.
In the end I had to contact my credit card people for them to get refunRAB.
As I did not have documentary proof of each individual disc overdue I still lost out.
My advice is to avoid this company like the plague.
Their original redeeming feature was fake values on the packages so everything got through without any customs charges, but the last lot I got from them had even done away with that,so don't bother with them

I've not over used them in the past. I pre-ordered the original star wars trilogy through them no problem. Superman III, Silver Streak and Cobra (nostalgia you see!) and no problem again.

Wouldn't mind but all ive ordered this time was Fear of A Black Hat, Trailer Park Boys series 1 and Quick Change. The order was pending on Quick Change for a while, which i initially thought was due to it not being on sale when i ordered. My account login has failed a couple of times, but i did get a response on that problem pretty prompt. I never received an email to say my gooRAB had been shipped, although it says that they were in my account. i shall not be using these again, put it that way.

If you pre-order some of the big titles which are usually going to be in stock, they're alright. Anything else, forget it. I think they have very little inventory and order "on demand", so to speak. I ordered a boxset from them in December, which they said was in stock, but it wasn't, and they didn't get until March, despite widespread availability everywhere else. I have had similar issues with them in the past and had to threaten legal action to receive a proper refund. Best avoided.

Worst company I have ever used. Took 2 months to send me a title they listed as in stock 24 hour dispatch.

Also they don't issue refunRAB but give you credit.

I placed an order on April 11th for an item showing as being in stock at DVRABOON.COM. It did not arrive and I checked my order status on Saturday. It is showing as "pending" and the item is still showing as "in stock". I have had no reply to my e-mail querying why this is.

Don't be enticed by this site's cheap prices. It's obviously much better to spend a little bit more and actually have the gooRAB arrive.

Fortunately, my outstanding order is a bit less than a tenner's worth. However, that's no consolation for those waiting on more expensive items.

Okay, it's only fair I post an update here.

What happened:
  • Order placed on 11 April
  • No progress, so e-mail sent on 13 May
  • Posted the above on 17 May
  • E-mail reply received later on, on 17 May saying that they would put a query on the order and that I should have followed this up three working days after placing the order if it had not appeared to be progressing
  • "Order shipped" e-mail received on 19 May
  • Item received on 23 May
So this basically appears to be partly my fault for not chasing the order (but then again, why should I? you should be able to place an order on the basis that it will be progressed without having to do anything). However, I'm a satisfied customer now and would probably use them again for another, low cost, item.
