wuts this thing in my fish tank?

i had my 60 gal tank for about 8 months i had a apple snail and gave it away because i got some clown and dojo loaches that would eat um then i bought about 12 angel fish and 5 dwarf gouramis then a week later i noticed this thing with a pointy white shell(like hermit crabs) it was about 1 cm length and 0.5cm width and it has a black head and white body like a slug i was like eww so do i flush it down the toilet?
what is it?
do i tell NASA?
what if its an alien cmon none of you guys know what it is:(
 
It was probably a snail. Do you buy live plants? Sometimes they're mixed in with the plants. Poor thing being flushed down the toilet. :(

My guess is that it's just an invertebrate pest that came in with your other fish. Were you careful not to mix store water with your own? When you introduce new fish you need to acclimate the water in the bag, to the same temp and chemistry, then use a net to get the fish out. if you just dump the water in, you are spreading whatever nasty stuff that was in the store aquarium, to your own.

I would go ahead and get rid of it and hope it's just an isolated pest and hasn't reproduced yet.
 
it sounds like snails eggs to me, or a decomposed snail, If you had a pic I could tell you
