You keep a knife under you pillow just in case a pair of pants attacks you?  Wow, you are incredibly fucking stupid.  Everyone knows that pants have +40 resistance to sharp weapons but they have -30 resistance to blunt weapons.  So, I would suggest getting a +4 Metal Bat of Power and enchanting it with +strength.  If pants still give you trouble, you may be too weak so you should go grind on some shorts.
