Can't help you with the distance amigo, but it sounds like your overall length of the pin is too long, causing the clutch to still be partially 'disengaged' even when the lever's released. I'd screw it a turn or several into the lever and away from the boot.

I bet you have it pretty close, which is why it only slips at 5K +
 
Yeah, it's getting pretty tight and was screwed in as far as i could go...as many would know that pin is a mother to get off the stock lever and perhaps a couple of threads got damaged in doing so and thus stopping it from being shortened on the new lever.

Thanks to all who replied and if the pin CRG send is acting up i imagine their would be no harm in grinding the end shortening the pin....would there???
 
The new lever is not letting the master cyl retract fully. It then builds pressure as the bleed hole is covered by the piston. This pressure builds up and disengages the clutch.

Make sure the lever allows the master to retract fully.
 
well i took the lever off today and tried tightening the pin further and guess what...the phaaarken thread split inside the dowel.

Anyway i'm wondering if anyone has found a supplier for these or has made their own from easy to find stores/suppliers (i.e fastenal, copperstate, Lowes etc.) cause i'm not buying a whole lever just for the dowel and pin.

Looks like i wont be riding for a while!!
I got in contact with CRG again and they informed me that these levers do not come with any additional parts
 
too late now.. but you probably missed the little 2.5mm grub screw that locks the pin into the dowel. Was there no instruction at all with the levers you got??

Try the bike wreckers or the dealer..

try this mob.. most of the states guy have raved about them..
 
No instructions at all...i did notice the tiny set screw but the damage was done to the threads when i removed the dowel from my stock lever and was never abled to be to screwed in all the way ever since.

I've tried a few wreckers without any luck but i'm waiting for another manufacturer who sells Brembo levers that have the parts that i need...it's just a matter of them selling it seperately.
Hopefully i get a response from them tommorow.
