hey

i don't think there's a thread on this

i just got the dvd the other day & thought it was great....very scary, lots of gore & very suspensful..which is always good, good acting all around, some shockers, those inbreeRAB were freaky :eek:

anyone else like this film
 
i love this film, Eliza plays the part very very well. its like a mix of other Horror films but its done the right way.

9/10 for me.
 
yeah i luv eliza & desmond :D :D :D...i thought the part were they see there friend dead lying next to them...then have to slowly walk away...i jumped outta my skin when chris saw the inbreed looking at him awake...ahhhhh hehe
 
yeah....she had a gruesome & shocking death..i wasn't expecting her to be chopped up & you too see it after..

also that girl with the axe...she was so stupid..ok lets stand here for a minute..hehe..then *bam*

i loved the explosion too & the quote

"why won't you mother f****** just die...loved the way he said that
 
I just rented it on a whim.

Not something I'd normally go for but for an old formula I thought they made a very good job. It makes no pretense to be anything other than the traditional 70s/80s classic slasher movie but what should, by all accounts have been hackneyed and predictable was actually imaginative and refreshing. The girl/axe/tree incident was especially well done.

From watching the DVD extras it looks as though most of the credit should go to the producer, Stan Winston. He seems to genuinely love the genre and it shows.

Definitely more Texas Chainsaw Masacre than Friday the 13th part 27. A surprising but well deserved thumbs up from me. :)
