I just wanted to improve my style or just see everyone else's.
So just for fun,rewrite this (this is my writing style) into your own.Feel free to add or take away anything.
The young man turned over on his mattress,his back stiff as an old log.The room contained almost no light,but his eyes had adapted to this darkness over the time he lay there.He pretended to sleep,though his ears and eyes were open.He listened,and there it was.There was that sound.It mirrored the sound of footsteps,though much lighter and swifter.He couldn't remember who they reminded him of.He slowly realized he was shaking.He felt like a child again,waiting for the monsters to disappear.Then,the sound ceased to tread within earshot of his room.He somewhat missed it,though he felt a bit safer.Taking a breath,he began to fall asleep,letting the memory of the sound replay in his mind over and over.
