im forming a metalcore band and would like to know how to write music for a song. are there any sort of guidlines or keys i should play in? i understand tuning to drop c, b, etc. but should my riffs be in a certain key or scale? are there certain patterns of riffs, choruses, and breakdowns i should follow? all help will be appreciated
