Argue, Persuade & Advise

''Families can provide support and love, but they can also make people’s lives miserable.''

Can you pls. Advice me that what types of points should I cover for the essay above.

Thanks in advance

You use the rhetorical mode of persuasion.

You usually begin with something your audience/opponents will agree with--that families can provide wonderful support and love--but after developing that idea (briefly) you turn to your own argument:

For eaxample. what happens when families DON'T supply that love: what if the family is abusive, or neglectful, or dysfunctional (in other words, if the family is the problem) and develop your ideas fully. You can develop this by kinds of problems (alcoholism/drug abuse/unemployment) or by who's effected.

End the writing with your advice: family counselling, fostering, etc--whatever your suggestion or solution is. If the writing is very lengthy, use a small summary of your main points at the end. If there is an action you want your audience to take, here's where it goes.
