Writers, what would you do if your published book was considered to become a movie?

I wouldn't want my books to become movies in the first place. I don't want what's in them to be glamourized for the sake of mass appeal, and I know a lot of the content of many of them [namely, the girl/girl relationships] would either be altered or portrayed in a way I would not approve of.

Think of the most amazing book you have ever written, or an amazing book you plan to write. For months, you've been typing up this thing, sent it off to 20 different publishers until one of them accepts your story. It ends up published, on the shelves, and read by a good amount of people with decent enough reviews.
And then, a Hollywood movie director happens upon it. He reads it, likes it, takes it to his producing team and decide to turn it into a movie. You get the call, and are called down to sign a contract. Would you, a person so connected to their story, agree to turn this book into a movie with the following downsides?
1. The actors/actresses have bad acting skills and don't look like what you wanted them to look like
2. And the director and screenwriter change a big aspect of your novel and change it to fit what they want like how all movies do with books

So...writers...would you?
