Just got a secondhand POS Presidian (RadioShack Brand) DVD/VCR combo and apparently the record timer function on the VCR doesn't work, rendering it fucking useless. Everything else does though.

What a piece of crap. It's a shame too. The DVD output on this thing is surprisingly sharp. It's also a very nice looking unit...

Time to haul the old Toshiba back out of my closet...

Yeah. I know what you're thinking. "Who the fuck still uses VHS?"

Poor people. That's who.
 
you know DVD players are as cheap as VHS now right? I mean you can get a player for less then 100 bux.. your mistake was getting a radio shack model.. or well anything from radio shack....

I say sell the VHS player to another poor sap.. use the money to buy a DVD player..
 
Who records anything unless it can't be found on the internet?

Next thing you'll be bitching about will be the image fidelity of porn magazines or more likely in your case, National Geographic magazines.
 
I have 3 VCR's, and I hunt the "thrift" stores for more. I have a huge collection of Tapes, and to "replace" them with DVD would cost thousands, not to mention the difficulty in getting a hold of a lot of it. I'll use my tapes 'till they break.

Oh, I do have DVD players, but I also use VCR.
 
I use my VCR only for the tapes I already have and old home movies. You work at Radioshack, and I know they have sales where the DVD players go on sale for like, thirty bucks, Descent.

I used to work there, so I know. Return that (apologize to whoever rung up the sale for you) and get a better one.
 
Whoever said I paid for it? I work here I know how bad our A/V equipment sucks.

Don't even get me started on the new "Gold Series" cables they introduced in 2006.

And no it wasn't stolen.



Not the VHS you bumbling chode, the DVD output. Sharper than the old Toshiba DVD player I swapped out cause it couldn't read DVD+R's.

VHS is about as sharp as a rubber knife.



Yeah maybe you like to wait for shit to download after you get home, but any TV I've missed during the work day I wanna see the instant I walk in the door.

Another factor is that I'm completely our of hard drive space and broke.



Sucks for your argument. I paid the guy, remember?
