In August of 2009, I was walking through my house. A broomstick fell right in front of me, and my intention was to walk over it and turn around and pick it up.
Well, I have a bad back, and when I walked over it, my right leg dragged like it can do sometimes, and it tripped me up, and I went straight up in the air, and crashed down on my knees, and the broomstick caught my right in the middle of my right calf, right on the shinbone.
I had just a typical wound there...it cut the skin and left a scab about the size of a dime. It was deeper than a normal cut...really, it looked like a tiny piece of skin was scooped out with a scab over it.
Fast forward to current day...the wound is still not completely healed. The skin has gone above the shin by about 1/4" (if you didn't know better, you'd think it was a wart), and itches sometimes, and if I accidentally shave over it, or forget and scratch it, it STILL bleeds!
I don't have health insurance, so I haven't gone to the doctor over it, because I figure if it was major, it would've killed me by now. LOL
What is causing this to not heal?
