4 months ago I went for a removal of abcess. The wound size is 2.5x 4.5 x 1.5 (deep) cm
4 month later the wound size is 0.5 x 0.5 x 6 (deep) cm.
The condition is that my wound depth would fill to 3 cm deep then all of a sudden in less than 3 days time it would become 6 cm deep. This cycle has been going on for weeks.
All my doctors cannot determine what cause the undermining or tunnelling.
Any advise?
to ans the question below
wound is in my right buttock. It is from a surgury to remove an abcess some 4 months ago.
There is a lot of blood . Quite smelly also. but I dont see a lot of pus.
I got no bad health conditions.
The skin surrounding the wound is in good condition, pink, no sign of serous swelling or infleaction but the depth of the wound seem to go deeper, at first it is 1.5cm but as the wound close it reaches 6cm, some time the depth reduces to 2 to 3 cm but it will soon tunnel to 6cm again in few days time.
The nurse use either mesalt to stuff the tunnel and wound, or use kaltostat if bleeding is deem to excessive. Normal bandage is applied as secondary dressing along with standing waterpoofing seal. dressing is change every 2 to 3 days.
My wound is getting smaller, very slow but it is, only thing is the depth of the wound seem to be like a yoyo, increase, then decrease then increase again.
There is no pain, except when i press very hard on it
