Wouldn't the best way to combat climate change be to all become Amish?

If it is such a grave threat to society, wouldn't the sensible thing be to give up all of these luxuries to have a clean planet?

The government wanted to tax cow farts. seriously. cows are big methane producers if fed a certain diet. politicians will tax anything and everything they can.

NO. This is just another turning point in history. First it was wind power,
then came steam, then came the combustion engine, etc. American ingenuity will and can seize the moment and invent the next great break through. Package and market it and sell it to the world. There is money to be made, some one just needs to step up.

Do you really believe that people really have anything to do with something like the earths climate? Grow up , Man! Plan to be a Chump all of your life?

If fighting artificial climate change is your only goal, then yes. The key word here being 'if'. Going back to a medieval state of living might be a good way to stop manmade global warming, but in doing so we leave ourselves wide open to longer-term threats, such as ice ages, diseases, meteors and so on. Developing clean energy sources is a safe way to go fowards; doing away with our modern technology completely is just a way of going backwards.
