The Hurt Locker was released on August 28th 2009 in the UK, so it's not too early to talk about Oscar worthy films at all.

Just 'cause the studios push their big hopes out a week before the ceremony to capitalise on the buzz doesn't mean the voters will recognize their efforts.

Personally I wouldn't have Shutter Island as even close to Oscar Worthy.

Inception should be in with shouts for Screenplay and Director as well as a lot of technical awarRAB, I would like to see Kick Ass get a screenplay nod, but that'll never happen as that film has made Hollywood producers look very silly indeed!

Toy Story 3 WILL be the favourite to win Best Picture, for the same reason that Return of the King won it despite Two Towers being a better film the previous year.

It's likely the Acting awarRAB will come from films released in the build-up, but I'm liking the buzz around Black Swan, Aronovsky and Natalie Portman sounRAB like a great match-up.
