Would you take your child camping?

Our friends have invited us out to their campsite. I have never been camping, never slept outdoors, never went fishing, etc. I am a city girl, haha.
Anyways, Alexis is 9.5 months and we will be with our friends all day Saturday and will be sleeping in a tent on Saturday night. It will be me, my husband and Alexis in the tent. I am totally confused on whether to stay or not. I have no idea what to bring, what to wear, etc.
We will be outside most of the day on a boat and swimming in the lake.
Would you take your child camping for a night and if you did how was it?

I have never taken my daughter....but my sister-in-law has. She took her camping when her baby was only 5 months old. It went really well, although she did cry at night (like normal). But she said that her baby wasn't the only one crying at night....other campers had babies too.

So taking your baby camping will be fine. =)

Oh yea! We took Liam on his first when he was 8 weeks. We had alot of fun. For sleeping we find it works best to bring the carseat in the tent and strap them in. They stay warmer and she will be safe. Bring extra blankets and have her sleep in a few layers as the early morning is the coldest!

Is your baby already crawling or walking? If so, be prepared to keep an eye on her 24/7. You may want to take a playpen and a stroller to have a place to put her.

I LOVE camping and would say go for it, but be prepared to be on constant baby-watching duty!

Yes, you can take your kid camping for a night. My son is 4 months and I'm going camping for the first time too this weekend!!! My guy said to bring our baby with if I wanted to. He has a 7 year old that he has been bringing camping since he was 3 months old. Its gonna be wild camping partying prob with a bunch of friends though, so I'm leaving my son at home. I don't think it will be a place for a baby, plus I want a break.

I am taking my darling camping soon and sleeping in a tent. Here are some things you need to bring:

Sun block
Hat
extra clothes
diapers
food
Stroller
Pack n Play to sleep in
Bug off for babies
I'm getting a play yard for mine but im staying for a week

Just pack extra stuff just in case, and you could even call your doctor for suggestions

we are taking our 15 month old camping for the first time in a few weeks... it will definetly need a lot of planning as far as food and drinks to bring for him but i think he will have so much fun.. camping is a blast, i would recommend an air mattress the ground is kinda uncomfortable. you will need to remember sunscreen lotion for your little one. and a life jacket if she will be on a boat.. dont take any chances with that. i dont know if she can walk yet but make sure she has somewhere were she can play or crawl too. i think it is worth it to try trips like these always make family memories good or bad.
